About the study

You are invited to take part in a research study investigating sleep problems in people with schizophrenia and in people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). We will also investigate whether treatment of OSA will improve sleep, cognition and clinical outcomes.
Eligibility Requirements

Healthy group - inclusion criteria Aged 18-65; Have not been diagnosed with any sleep disorder; Fluent in English OSA (Obstructive sleep apnea) group - inclusion criteria Aged 18-65; Have been diagnosed with OSA by a sleep physician, or suspect of having OSA; Have not been diagnosed with any other sleep disorder; Fluent in English

What's Involved
*
The study requires one sleep study at the Woolcock Institute in Macquarie Park; If diagnosed with OSA, a 6-month CPAP treatment will be required followed by a second overnight sleep study; If not diagnosed with OSA (i.e., healthy group), participants will undertake one overnight sleep study. During the sleep study visits participants will complete computerised cognitive tests before and after sleep.
